Questions, a bug, or a case that doesn't add up? Email support@the-daily-detective.com. Tell us your device, the app version (or browser), and the date of the case.

When does a new case come out?

Every day at 5 a.m. New York time, for everyone at once. Depending on where you live, that can be the night before or the afternoon of the date on the case.

Where is my progress saved?

On your device only. There are no accounts yet, so your streak, scores and case history stay on the phone or browser where you played. Deleting the app, or clearing the browser's site data, deletes them.

Playing in a browser on iPhone or iPad

Add the game to your Home Screen (Share, then Add to Home Screen). Safari can clear a website's saved data after about a week without a visit, and your streak would go with it. Home Screen apps keep theirs.

Can I play offline?

Yes. The apps carry their cases with them. In a browser, open the game once while online, and today's case then plays offline.

I think a case has a mistake

Email us with the date of the case and what you saw. If a case needs fixing, players partway through are told and can start it fresh; finished results are kept.
