Privacy policy
The short version: The Daily Detective has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your game progress stays on your device.
What the game stores
Your results, streaks, scores, settings and any case in progress are saved on your device: in the app's own storage on iPhone and Android, and in your browser's storage on the web. We don't receive a copy. Deleting the app, or clearing the site's data in your browser, removes them.
If your phone backs up app data (iCloud or device backups on iPhone, Google backup on Android), that copy is handled by Apple or Google under your account settings and their privacy policies.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. The apps don't ask for your name, email, location, contacts or photos, and they don't use advertising identifiers or third-party analytics.
Our website and downloads
The website, the web version of the game and, in future updates, each day's new case are delivered by Cloudflare. As with any website, Cloudflare receives the technical details of each request (your IP address, your browser or app's user agent and the time) to deliver the content and protect the service from abuse. We don't use those details to identify or track you, and we don't set advertising or analytics cookies. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Sharing your results
When you tap Share, the game hands a short, spoiler-free summary (and, if you choose, an image) to your device's share sheet. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you send it.
Children
The game collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the game ever adds accounts or online leaderboards, we'll update this policy before that feature ships and change the date above.
